Trust & Safety
Safety Center
Work In My Shoes is built on trust. Here is how we keep the community safe, respectful, and ready to swap skills with confidence.
Meet in public or professional spaces
Always arrange your first trade in a workplace, public studio, or shared professional space. Avoid private residences for initial meetups.
Tell someone your plan
Share the trade details — who, where, when — with a friend or family member before you head out.
Verify identity first
Confirm names, trades, and workplace details through the app before meeting. A quick video call can go a long way.
Protect your privacy
Keep personal contact info inside the app until you feel comfortable. Do not share home addresses or financial details.
No money exchanges
Work In My Shoes is for skill swaps, not paid labor. If someone asks for payment, report it immediately.
Report and block
See something wrong? Use the Report button on any profile or listing. You can also block users to stop seeing their content.
Community Guidelines
Be respectful
Treat every tradesperson with dignity. Discrimination, harassment, or abusive language will result in account suspension.
Be honest
Represent your skills and experience accurately. Misleading listings waste everyone's time and erode trust.
Be safe
Follow workplace safety rules. Wear proper PPE. If a situation feels unsafe, leave and report it.
Be reliable
Show up on time and prepared. Cancel with as much notice as possible. Your reputation follows you.
