Terms of Service

Last updated: 8/8/2026

1. What Work In My Shoes is

Work In My Shoes is a matching service that helps adults swap a single workday with another tradesperson, technologist, or professional. We provide the software that helps you find a match and schedule the swap. We are not a party to the swap itself, we do not employ either participant, and we do not guarantee any specific outcome, skill transfer, or income.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts in your jurisdiction. You agree to provide accurate information about your trade, experience, and availability, and to verify your email or phone before sending match requests.

3. Your account

You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your credentials private. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

4. Swaps are not paid work

A workday swap is an exchange of time and learning between two consenting adults. It is not employment, contracting, or paid labor. You may not use Work In My Shoes to solicit paid work, recruit employees, or run any transaction that involves money changing hands between participants. Anyone who asks you to pay or perform paid work should be reported.

5. Credits

Match requests cost credits. New accounts receive a starter grant. Credits are not money, have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are non-refundable except where required by law. If you spend 25 credits and never receive an accepted match, our match guarantee returns 25 credits to your balance.

6. Acceptable use

  • Be honest about who you are and what you can teach.
  • Follow workplace safety rules and wear proper PPE.
  • No harassment, discrimination, or threats.
  • No illegal activity, no weapons handling, no impaired work.
  • No scraping, automation, or reverse engineering of the service.

We can suspend or remove any account that violates these rules.

7. Your responsibility for the swap

You decide whether to accept any swap, where to meet, and what you do during the day. You are responsible for your own safety, your tools, your transport, your insurance, and your compliance with any licensing or workplace rules that apply to your trade. Work In My Shoes does not screen, supervise, or insure swaps.

8. No warranty, limited liability

The service is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Work In My Shoes is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost income, injury, or property damage arising out of a swap or your use of the service.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continuing to use Work In My Shoes after a change means you accept the updated terms.
